US firm supplies state-of-the-art river monitoring equipment to Three Gorges project

Sutron Corporation is supplying state-of-the-art river monitoring equipment to the Three Gorges project, according to an August 13 release from the NASDAQ-listed company.

The equipment worth US$1,020,742 includes 345 dataloggers, sensors and ancillary equipment for 345 remote water monitoring stations. The stations will provide real-time data for the Three Gorges Water Conservancy Complex Cascade Dispatch and Communication Center.

Virginia-based Sutron Corporation is a leading provider of hydrological and metereological monitoring products and services. Its 2007 clients include the Afghanistan Ministry of Energy and Water, Iraq’s Ministry of Water Resources, South Florida Water Management District, and the US Geological Survey.
