Last minute action for Bill C-300

(October 27, 2010) Contact your Member of Parliament to show support for tonight’s third reading of Bill C-300.

Bill C-300, the proposed law that would give those affected by Canadian-backed mining projects in the Third World — both the Canadian taxpayers providing the funds and the Third World citizens hosting the mines — a say in projects accused of harming the environment or human rights, is coming up for a Third Reading vote tonight, Wednesday October 27, in Canada’s House of Commons. Early reports indicate that the vote will be very close.
