The government is paying close attention to growing pollution levels upstream of the Three Gorges dam and in Yangtze tributaries, but current controls are not sufficient to stop pollution from flowing into the river, a senior official says.
Beijing: The government is paying close attention to signs of rising pollution levels upstream from the Three Gorges Dam and in tributaries of the Yangtze River, but current control systems are not sufficient to stop pollution from flowing into the river, the vice-chairman of the NPC Environmental and Resources Protection Committee Qian Yi said.
