Nujiang Prefecture CCP committee held a seminar on the protection of state secrets

Speakers reminded officials to be on alert for “rampant spying activities and the penetration of state enemies” during the current period of peace and economic reform.

On June 20, the State Secrets Protection Committee of the Nujiang Prefecture’s CCP Committee and the Nujiang Prefecture’s State Secrets Protection Bureau held a seminar on the Protection of State Secrets. A total of 210 officials that handle state secrets from the Nujiang Prefecture government joined the two separate sessions of the meeting. The speakers reiterated the importance of the state secrets protection work by the National Administration for the Protection of State Secrets, played two documentaries about state secrets protection, and informed participants of the current critical situation facing the state secrets protection work in the country. The speakers stressed that state secrets protection is the obligation of each Chinese citizen, and the duty of each civil servant. Therefore, officials from all ranks of the government should clearly recognise the rampant spying activities and the penetration of the state enemies, during today’s peace era and the economic reform period. Secondly, the management of the departments that handle state secrets should be further enhanced. Thirdly, the management of computer networks that process state secrets should be strengthened. Fourth, all state secrets in paper documents, telegraphs, graphics and other printed matter should be properly handled. Fifth, the management of all state secrets communications through mobile phones should be enhanced. The speakers also emphasised the protection of state secrets is very important for the country, which desparately requires the participation and efforts of the whole society. The speakers reminded officials to stay highly alert regarding state secrets protection work, so as to protect the “national safety and development”, and actively contribute to the Nujiang Prefecture’s economic and social development.
