Pak Mun
Grainne visited village activists along Thailand’s Mun river who have lost their fishing livelihoods to the World Bank-financed Pak Mun dam, completed in 1994. PI continues to pressure the World Bank to ensure that affected communities are fairly compensated and that no new World Bank funds are used for dam-building in Thailand and neighbouring countries.

Roundtable discussion on Thailand’s draft electricity market legislation Grainne gave an overview (in Thai) of Ontario’s experience with electricity restructuring. Government policymakers, academics, journalists, Thailand’s electricity consumers association, and environmental groups attended.
