In Beijing the price of water and sewage treatment is going up for non-residential consumers.
According to the Beijing Municipal development and reform commission, the water resource fee will increase by 0.22 yuan for every cubic meter. While the price of wastewater treatment will rise by 0.18 yuan. The moves aim to encourage water saving and recycling in a bid to ease water shortages in the city.
Beijing is also planning to hold a public price hearing on residential water use.
