Probe International has added its support to a letter signed by more than 60 MPs urging the Canadian government to take action against top Chinese officials in response to “human rights atrocities” in Tibet, occupied East Turkestan (Xinjiang), and Hong Kong.
Organized by Alliance Canada Hong Kong (ACHK) – a group of pro-democracy Hong Kongers in Canada – the letter calls on Canada to deploy the Sergei Magnitsky Act to target Chinese officials “directly responsible for the human rights atrocities” perpetrated against Uighur Muslims and pro-democracy advocates in Hong Kong.
